Manual Osteopathy

The goal of a manual osteopathic treatment is to restore the normal functioning of the affected areas of the body with somatic dysfunctions by stimulating a more appropriate healing process and interrelations between different systems of the human body (musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory, pulmonary, digestive system etc). The patient is assessed and treated as a whole unique unit.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is used to encourage natural healing, improve mood and energy, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body. It is safe and effective and is often successfully used as an alternative to medications or even surgery. Relief is often obtained with acupuncture when traditional medical therapy has failed.

Massage Therapy helps your body make the best of the resources it already has. Massage Therapy aids in the reduction of pain, reduces stress, helps boost the body's immune system and increases mobility.

Osteopathic Student Clinic

All Manual Osteopathy Students who are providing treatment sessions in the student clinic are in their final year of studies at the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy. Students are always supervised by one of our registered manual osteopathic practitioners.

Sharmila Gupta DOMP, RMT, BA

Sharmila Gupta, D.O.M.P., R.M.T., B.A. has a passion for helping others. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Sharmila counselled underprivileged children in a hospital setting. Continuing her education, Shar became a Registered Massage Therapist and has been treating local patients for several years. To expand her knowledge and treatment modalities, she completed her manual osteopathic program at the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy and has been working as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner for over five years. Sharmila is also concussion management therapist and has her level 2 certification from the Shift Concussion Management Program. She offers both baseline testing, concussion assessments, and post-concussion treatment.

Nadiia Kopersak

Nadiia is a manual osteopathic practitioner with a background in internal medicine, physiotherapy and homeopathy from the Ukraine. Nadiia’s comprehensive experience in medicine provides a distinct approach to health care by implementing holistic practices. Nadiia specializes in Manual Osteopathy, Craniosacral and Visceral Therapy.

Nadiia has been in the medical field for over 20 years. In 1999, Nadiia graduated from National Medical University of Ukraine with her Medical Doctor Degree. She went on to obtain her Internal Medicine Degree in 2000, Homeopathy Certification in 2000 and her Physiotherapy Certification in 2014. In 2022, Nadiia graduated from the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy (SOCO) with her Diploma of Osteopathy, Manipulative Practice. She is a member of the National Manual Osteopathic Society (NMOS) and is certified to practice in Ontario.

Igor Norets, D.O.M.P., Ph.D., R.Ac. is an osteopathic manual practitioner and has studied a variety of manual medicines world wide.
