Manual Osteopathy

The goal of a manual osteopathic treatment is to restore the normal functioning of the affected areas of the body with somatic dysfunctions by stimulating a more appropriate healing process and interrelations between different systems of the human body (musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory, pulmonary, digestive system etc). The patient is assessed and treated as a whole unique unit.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is used to encourage natural healing, improve mood and energy, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body. It is safe and effective and is often successfully used as an alternative to medications or even surgery. Relief is often obtained with acupuncture when traditional medical therapy has failed.

All Manual Osteopathy Students who are providing treatment sessions in the student clinic are in their final year of studies at the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy. Students are always supervised by one of our registered manual osteopathic practitioners.

She graduated with honors from ICT Kikkawa College of Massage Therapy and offers a broad range of specialized services to her clients. Her expertise spans various massage techniques, including pre-and post-natal care, therapeutic and relaxation massage, deep tissue therapy, myofascial release, cupping, sports massage, and the development of stretching and exercise programs. Lola’s diverse skill set and extensive experience allow her to tailor treatments to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Sharmila Gupta DOMP, RMT, BA

Sharmila Gupta, D.O.M.P., R.M.T., B.A. has a passion for helping others. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Sharmila counselled underprivileged children in a hospital setting. Continuing her education, Shar became a Registered Massage Therapist and has been treating local patients for several years. To expand her knowledge and treatment modalities, she completed her manual osteopathic program at the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy and has been working as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner for over five years. Sharmila is also concussion management therapist and has her level 2 certification from the Shift Concussion Management Program. She offers both baseline testing, concussion assessments, and post-concussion treatment.

Nadiia has been in the medical field for over 20 years. In 1999, Nadiia graduated from National Medical University of Ukraine with her Medical Doctor Degree. She went on to obtain her Internal Medicine Degree in 2000, Homeopathy Certification in 2000 and her Physiotherapy Certification in 2014. In 2022, Nadiia graduated from the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy (SOCO) with her Diploma of Osteopathy, Manipulative Practice.
